The service Industry has been one of the most demanding industries for decades now. Healthcare Industry being one of the major components of service Industry has evolved immensely over the years.

However, in the Last couple of decades the healthcare services has developed many other aspects to it and is moving ahead neck to neck with other major Industry like the software Industry of the country.

The industry is undergoing a major structural transformation as a result of the following structural transformation as a result of the following factors: significant scientific advancement, a new political landscape and rapidly changing regulatory environment, market demands from employers and consumers, technology-enabled connectivity.

Pune has been observed well developing in healthcare. There are numerous state-of-the-art hospitals In the city which provide advanced hospitals in the city which provide such as, Ruby Hall Clinic, Jahangir Hospital, Sancheti Hospital, Aditya Birla Hospital, Oyster & Pearl Poona hospital and many more. Another aspect of the healthcare in Pune is the corporatization of hospitals; many hospitals in Pune are present under big names like Apollo Hospitals, Aditya Hospital etc. Additionally, Pune is also seeing a lot of international brands
in healthcare entering the city.

While we observe the growth and the changes in the healthcare industry, the industry still faces numerous hiccups. The major one being the lack of trained manpower, this arises due to lack of awareness, no awareness on the opportunities available in this industry.

Adding to this Mrs. Manisha Sanghavi, President All Hospitals Associations in Pune and Executive Director Sancheti Healthcare Academy says, “Hospitals today along with their vision and energy of their governing and administrative authorities are moving ahead with time. These ancillary medical institutes are doing a much better job than a few years, be it medical practices, every aspect of health care delivery has witnessed a sea change”

Another  aspect to this career option is entrepreneurs entering the healthcare segment, established  players are also trying out new entry strategies, setting up stand alone facilities dedicated to day care surgeries, mother and child care, specialty cardiac care, orthopedic care, five star hospital or no frill hospitals there is demand for each one of them. All these different types of hospitals will have one thing in common, a need for professionals trained in healthcare management and there is tremendous shortage. In the start of the second decade of this millennium, these ventures will improve both accessibility and affordability, getting closer to Dr. Abdul Kalam’s vision of affordable healthcare for all by 2020.
